So whenever I wash my car, I notice my trunk fills up with water oh, I pretty much have to use the sending unit grommet 2 pull out and whisk all the water through the hole, it looks as though it's coming from the driver side tail light.

The Rubber seal for the trunk lid is flawless, so it seems like the water when it runs down the sides of the trunk channel down over the tail light, it seems to flow in there pretty steady.

I guess you could say this is a 70 Cuda based on the taillight panel.

Is there some sort of factory gasket that goes in there to keep water out? Or do I have to jerry-rig something with some kind of sealant?

There are foam seals . Detroit Muscle Technologies has everything you need.

I would put your phone in the trunk and take a video to see where the water is actually coming from. Seal on rear glass, tail lights or tail panel trim.

My 70 barracuda was doing the same thing, Taillight gaskets were not installed by the previous owner.  :pullinghair:

Tail light seals. I would check everything though including the rear window seal/channell and if the trunk seal is actually touching the trunk lid all around.

:iagree: Two options, Remove rear seat and watch or find a person small enough to fit in the trunk and give them a flashlight. then hose it down.  :alan2cents:

Yeah As mentioned I'd narrow down how it's coming in before changing anything. I'm assuming the car is restored so hopefully you don't have water coming in at the rear window where the metal channel rusts out.

FSHTAIL

I already narrowed it down to the taillight.

I didn't know there were gaskets for them.

Thanks.

I have bought several things from DMT. Never been disappointed.
