Trying to build out some deck lid hinge pin grooving on my passenger side. Drive side isn't grooved. I've welded and filed very gradually and although I don't have a photo of the final product yet, it came out nice. Upon dry fitting the hinge brackets over the pins, I'm feeling about .020" approximately of play. The 1/2" bracket holes show very little wear and aren't misshapen. Before I go all OCD and attempt airtight clearance, what have some of you came up with? I'm fully equipped to bronze sleeve the pins to 5/8" and drill out the hinge bracket holes to match, but am reluctant and may end up with play there as well. Thoughts? Acceptable tolerances?
