Continuing from my initial post on gas tank removal.

Finally was able to access the strap bolts.  I missed one stud and bolt (the mid way ones, side valence) Once I did that, I was able to swing out the valence and let it hang on the upper studs. Didn't need to remove.

Now, the next step.  I know that there are fuel lines attached. I can see them through one of the trunk floor access plugs. What do I do next. I swung one detached strap down.  Not sure how to remove it from the front saddle, so I just left it hanging.

Before I remove the second strap, what do I need to prepare for the drop?  How do I remove the fuel lines? Vent line?

What's the sequence?

Thanks in advance!

on the left side the hose connects to the sending unit , you may have to loosen or remove the heat shield to get at it , disconnect the sender wire & hose or hoses , next you can remove the second strap & twist the tank to get it to slide off of the filler neck & the tank will drop out .

The right side should have a hose and clamp for the vent/overflow line.

Make sure the tank is empty or close to it.
Unplug the one sending unit wire.
Just cut the hoses on both sides of the tank.
Undo the two straps and let them hang
If the tank has weight to it, it will likely fall off the filler neck
If it doesn't, just twist and pull

Be prepared to spill at least some gas
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

If you twist the straps approx. 45* they will release from the hanger in the body

Thanks everyone!  As of right now, I don't see much I the way of hoses going in.  As suggested, I may have to remove (or move) the heat shield.  The tank is empty and the filler neck has been removed. As for the straps, I can't really get that angle to remove. It hits the the underside structures.  I wasn't really being super patient though, it was over 100* still at 9:30 pm here.   :(
