I have an AAR fiberglass TA hood. Which hood molding does this use? I understand that factory TA hoods had a shorter molding, but this is not a factory TA hood. Any insight as to which molding I use?
Thanks

This ad says their repro T/A molding is 52" wide.  They claim the T/A hoods were 1/4" narrower than steel hoods.  I bet they offer both lengths. Also, you will probably need the longer studs that go with their T/A-specific mounting kit.

BTW - I have two original T/A hoods and both of them measure 52.25" wide.  I am under the impression that the only difference between original hood moldings for T/A and steel hoods is the stud length on the clips.

That the mounting studs were different lengths was always my understanding of the difference between T/A and steel hood moldings.  I bought a new hood molding at a Dodge dealer in the 80s and that's what's on my OE T/A hood now.
If the aftermarket hood is a different width, I wonder why they did it that way, I don't think OE was different between T/A and steel.

I've never heard of the hoods being different widths ?

I bought a T/A hood from Year One and the correct 1/4" shorter hood molding. Appears YO no longer lists the T/A hood molding. Anyway, the T/A hood molding came in a OER plastic bag. Still available at OER. Go to: www.oerparts.com/product/mn1424.html

I have an AAR T/A hood on my car and use the standard hood trim.

Found this article to be interesting in Authentic Restoration Guide "Challenger & Barracuda Restoration Guide 1967-1974" Wonder what the author Paul Herd meant by it?

I read somewhere that the part number difference only was to reference the longer studs. The trim was the same.
