No one has mentioned this, so I will.....

Isn't the retro dealership outside of gate 1 being changed to a micro brewery??   :veryexcited:

Yes - said change has completed, and it is in fact getting fairly decent reviews.  Was going to see if @Spikedog08 wanted to go there Thursday evening, or just wait and hit it up maybe Saturday afternoon before heading back for pizza dinner.  :)

I'll be ready to hit it up anytime with you.

I hope to get down to the show sometime soon as it sounds like a great time!

The cost to get there and all the expenses are the reason Mancini Racing will not be there again this year . . . just the tolls alone kill ya . . . then hotel expense, food and gas!  Have to sell a lot of parts to make up for it.   :dunno:

As a vendor of reproduction parts that is one reason why I stress the importance of the participants to support the vendors who support the shows.  Having been involved in the industry for close to 40 years, if the vendors were to decide to stay at home and sale their parts only through E-Bay and the other forums, where would it leave the hobby that we all so love.  Also, the same support needs to be shown to the show staff as we all see the shows continue to decline in attendance.
Not trying to rain on anyone's parade.  But I have always told Mopar people that they need to attend Carlisle once to see how a real show is ran and for car people in general, everyone needs to attend Hershey one year.  A truly remarkable experience.

It's my 12th year in a row and I still can't wait. I'm running out of stuff I need to get for my car though!

Jeff,

I hate quoting quotes as it get cumbersome to read.

Friday lunch at the new brewery sounds great. Is Murray saying it will be packed?? If so, oh crap.

MEK, I expect it will be packed with 5000-15000 people on their doorstep on a hot day. Would be a good idea to make a reservation if they allow it.

@69BFan - I am right here with you on this one.  We go to shows, folks will come by and say "WOW", but will not spend a dollar in the booth.  Not even a shirt or hat, which we typically drag around.  The compliment for our array of stuff we take is nice, but this does not pay the bills.  100% why we have really scaled back, might not do Mopars and Phil's silly idea to add Muscle Cars at the Strip in Vegas next year as a swap vendor.  "Thanks for coming out" and hanging for a BS session does not pay the bills.

Not trying to be bitter, but it is simple from our bucket seats.  It is easier to sit at home and put the stuff on the internet than to drop $3,000 or more to go to a show on a hope the buyers will be parting with their hard earned cash.

My thoughts are...How many of those people even know that new brewery is there? I just know from the past, not too many people ventured over to the retro dealership.

I could be wrong here. It wouldn't be the first time.    :-[

I'm not worried about it - we'll probably trek over after our 10AM announcement on the dinner venue - shouldn't be too crowded that early in the morning!  And it wouldn't be the first time I had a beer or 12 before lunch!!  :)
