Okay all you experience car show people! I have a friend that is pretty old and wants to come with me to the show but he cannot stay in a hotel that has ever had any pets in it I don't care how clean they try to make it does anyone know of a fairly nice clean place I have not yet booked a room and I don't mind if it's a bit of a drive I would prefer to stay close even if it cost more. And while I know this post is about  hotels will I be able to park my hauler  on the Carlisle fairgrounds somewhere or will I need a place at a hotel for that?

If your car has been accepted for display in Building T or the other building, they will give you a parking pass for your tow vehicle and the trailer.  This parking is located on the hillside nearest the turnpike, but still within the gates of the event.  If you were to trailer a car up without a parking pass, you can purchase a camping / trailer parking pass through Carlisle Events for the Spring Street location which is just outside of the gate.  In my opinion, either option is much better than trying to leave a trailer at the different lodging locations.

Anything right in Carlisle will most probably be already booked and three times the average rate that they charge during non-car show weekends.  Most probably as we get closer to the event, people may have to change plans, so an open room will be an option, just depends on the waiting list.

I'm 100% disabled as I broke my neck 11 times in a racing crash about 25 months ago so anything closer helps me but I'll deal with it I guess I don't mind if I have to drive a little ways each day to that show. Thanks for the post :bradsthumb:

When I was looking for a room, I found lots close by, but they only had single King beds, I'm guessing, like me, you're looking for two Queens....which made it harder and more expensive...I remember when we used to have to pick up a phone and call around, but now the internet makes it much easier...good luck in your search, can't wait to see your car  :drooling:

I just checked hotels.com and there are still a good amount of rooms available in Mechanicsburg.  Not the cheapest, but if your buddy is after a non dog room, then you will be in the 250 a night range regardless.  Still rooms to book.

The group of hotels that the club uses has a couple hotels that are newer and I believe don't allow pets.  I would start there!   :bigthumb:
