Last couple years participation in the club activities has been limited by members  . . for the club dinner we used to have 30+ members attend and the last couple years less than 20?  I spend a lot of time organizing the details of the events and then come time and limited members show up.

Activities include:

Club dinner Friday night at Dodge City
Lunch at the tent on Saturday
Pizza party at the club group of hotels

It was easier when I had the help of Viperman and Ashley but since they have not been at the show for a couple years, seems like participation has dwindled . . . Thoughts?

Things ebb and flow. People's lives change, the things that affect their lives change, and so their priorities change. I've been to Carlisle a couple times and loved it. Now I'm retired and while I have the time, my money has to last to the end. The cost of everything has increased a lot so it makes me take a hard look at where I spend what I have and what else I could do with the money I would spend going to Carlisle. I can spend a lot of days taking an afternoon or evening cruise in the Challenger or Charger for what the Carlisle weekend would cost. I'm sure for some that higher interest rates and higher cost of living has resulted in less play money left over.
Respond to the trend. If participation is dwindling maybe it's time to change things up or step back and let someone else start up something new. Or just carry and those that really want to be there will be. Quality is better than quantity.   :alan2cents:
We certainly appreciate what you've done for the group Dave.

Dave, we will be there and will help as much as we can. Like I said before, I got the drinks for anyone who wants them. I will also have tables and extra chairs. Also, the extra canopy if we need it.

We are bringing water, soda, tea, and an assortment of whatever we pick up. If anyone has any suggestions, please post them here or PM me before it is too late.

I don't drink alcohol, but if someone wants me to bring beer, I will bring some as well. But you will have to let me know.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone again and welcoming any new friends as well.

I will be there and hang out for all of the events.  Nothing like having a club to hang with.

If anything is needed I am more than willing to help.  I am driving 31 hours so I don't have a lot of supplies but I am more than willing to provide muscle or funds if needed.

You guys welcomed us last year with open arms even without a car there, we will definitely be at dinner and lunch. Will be glad to bring anything to contribute if someone tells me what's needed.

It seems our group numbers have been lower since covid and it`s lingering effects on travel, economy etc., maybe this year will be better?  :dunno: I enjoy the lunch and dinner at Dodge city but the pizza party is usually the most fun of the whole weekend. My thought is don`t worry about lunch on Saturday as we can get our own, try to judge how many are interested in Dodge city to see if it`s worth it and have the parking lot party as usual.

I have met more members at the lunch on Saturday than anywhere else.
The parking lot party is our kind of standard group whereas the free lunch brings people from the website club into the circle that would not usually attend the dinner or pizza party.  I think that the club on the field in the ebody row makes a big difference for introducing the non usuals to the club itself. And of course, some of the "usuals" actually stop by for like 3 minutes.  Like Allen.  Folks that just do not participate in the off site activities.
Club lunch is a great booster for the forum club/facebook club.

I am looking forward to my first time at Carlisle and meeting some of the members.
I am happy to bring anything that might be needed as well.
