@king dragon can you share more details about your '71 B7 Challenger convertible - either here or in a thread of its own?  fender tag pic?

the bulge hood (J54) wasn't an orderable OPTION on a '71 Challenger, but a SHAKER (N96) or T/A (N94) hood was.  Dodge built some "odd" cars because of this due to discontinuing the N94 hood in October '70 & their desire to self promote

here's a "loaded" '71 "promo" JH27N1B100xxx (August '70 built) - factory 383HP, auto, AM/FM cassette, PW, A/C, leather, mirrors, T/A hood, etc., it was purple w/white top and sport stripes (FC7 - V3W - V6W) & it is coded for tips (N42)
it was probably spec'd out within Dodge prior to the final details being worked out

there is also supposed to be a similar convertible in red

I had to run down to the shop and check the tag. You're right, it's not on the tag. I don't know why I'm so sure the car came with j54 and N42. Now I'm stumped.  I'm going to have to get to the bank and check the broadcast sheet. Is it possible to be on broadcast and not on fendertag? Man my head is spinning. I'd bet the farm the car has the the original B7 sport hood and tips.

just about anything is possible, but I'd bet they were added somewhere in the car's past

Either way, gorgeous car.  I had a 71 vert with luggage rack and a 3 speed manual. Let me just say that the windshield frame on those is as good as a roll bar. Stupid at 22. Nuff said.
