Nice one!
This Hemi Cuda was last listed (not sold) at the Mecum Indy Classic Car Auction on 16 May 2015.
Estimated price then: $ 600,000 - $ 800,000. High bid: $ 450,000.

Text of the Vehicle Description @ CC.com has many similarities with the text on the Mecum auction site...

Back halved race car , survivor status is questionable there is a previous thread about this car

From the Mecum site:

"Today it is the textbook definition of a time capsule; unmolested, original and in superb condition, with documentation that includes the factory broadcast sheet and a recorded verification of the numbers and codes—for Hemi lovers, the Holy Grail."

How is it that they consider a heavily modified race car later returned to stock conditions "unmolested"?

Wonder who's had it since the last auction? I thought Aruzza is out of doing engine builds?

That's what I thought too, and there's no way the engine compartment is not restored...

It has been for sale for a looooooong time. Previously it was offered at half of it's current price ... and there were no takers ... doubling the asking price to a ridiculous level ... well I'm sure it will have potential buyers clamoring all over themselves to buy it now!!  :takemymoney:
Cheers!

Tis' better to have owned classic Mopars and lost than to have never owned at all (apologies to Alfred Lord Tennyson)

More history of this Hemi Cuda:
On his website, Mr. Arruzza posted some pictures of the Hemi Cuda, showing a mileage of 61.

http://www.arruzzahighperformance.com/Pic/Years.html

I guess Mr. Arruzza sold the car at Barrett-Jacksson Scottsdale Auction, January 2007.
According to the description at Barrett-Jacksson auction site, the Hemi Cuda was listed with a mileage of 74 and sold for $ 550,000.

The description contradicts itself

How can one claim the car is "unmolested"?

When... "Bill immediately began modifying True Grit to get her ready for the drag strip: removing the intake and carburetors, the complete exhaust system, rear end, rear wheels and tires and front shocks. He replaced all these with the best performance parts available, while carefully stowing the originals in safe storage."

one could argue, if the hemi'cuda wanted to go drag racing      can cutting it up and making it a racecar be considered molesting it?  :burnout:

And the history continues...
It seems that after the Barrett-Jacksson Scottsdale Auction in 2007, the Hemi Cuda became part of the Robert Watson Collection. The entire Watson Collection was auctioned by Auction Assets Group from Jackson, Mississippi, on 11 September 2019. According to the website, the Hemi Cuda was sold for $ 593,250.

The Hemi Cuda is currently listed by TheVaultMS.com LLC from... Jackson, Mississippi. If you look closely at the website and car photos this is the same company as the Auction Assets Group that sold the car on 11 September 2019...

The main question that has been on my mind since reading the Hemi Cuda ads: Why on earth would anyone own a Hemi Cuda and not drive it?  :crying:

The fear of putting a few miles on it! Or the fear of having someone run into it! Don't let fear run your life. I would drive it plenty.....
