The look on the buyers face when he woke up this morning hungover and realized the R code Challenger he'd bought yesterday at the auction was actually a V code!  :o

EV2RTSE

It wasn't too many years ago that there was an EV2 & black 440-6 4 speed convertible up for sale out of CT for what, 225 or 250K? But we're talking RAGTOP not hardtop!

When it comes to auctions it would seem that if someone with deep pockets wants something they'll pay whatever it takes to get it, I guess. Or maybe it's just that that color combo makes people go off the deep end  :D

a real car without issues and rare. "Most cars like this sell privately" .... their selling price not publicly known... the Bj site says price 275k? must be with added fees? reserve?

that "wise inspection" has to help! glad to see the 6 pack cars get some respect

If I could 1/3rd that final price for my mint V code '71 Challenger I'd be ecstatic.
But it's been on the market off and on for years and no one's beating a path to my door yet trying to buy it.  :takemymoney:
So I take anything I see at auctions with a grain of salt, lots of questionable things happen at them and some pure fiction.

I personally know the owner. straight up man. no bs kind of man. he was pleased! :bravo:  the car was inspected and documented by David wise. not restored! But repainted and rebuilt orig.# engine. does your car have the paperwork and numbers like this? I know every part was verified as date correct and I mean every part with the only exception being the master cyl was non factory! {I am not kicking your car] I am surprised too. however, I think 440-6 challengers have been under rated for a long time. I personally think many of the desirable cars sell privately and their true values not widely known. who knows? maybe there was more than one person interested in this particular car? one thing that we all know is "there are not many like it --for sale"....

I noticed that when I watched the video for the first time.  Not an easy task given our average age these days.

I still don't understand why your car didn't sell immediately.  I like the color combo, it's a great looking car.
