Real 1971 Challenger R/T MT craigs

RUNCHARGER

Fairly decent, wrong top as well so 3 medium price things to fix. Price is in the ballpark though I think. If it was a 383 I'd like it better.

I actually prefer the 340 , lighter & faster .

383's respond well, easier to work on (dry intake, external oil pump, better pushrod angle, distributor in the front etc). Just a personal preference.

From a collectability stand point...the 340 is more desirable because of the lower production numbers :alan2cents:

Not even an option on a 1970 R/T Challenger.

I agree completely the big block was so well designed , it is frustrating that the small block was designed later & did not use the same features as the big block , I love the angled dist & external oil pump & dry intake but in general the 340 would outrun the 383 in the same body style , the 340 was a killer engine .
