JH27N0B

I've had my JH27N0B car for over 25 years and love it because it's an oddball. One of 115 I think it was, or thereabouts, 383 4 barrel converts that's not an R/T that were built. I've only seen a few others like mine.  Most like mine were autos but I've been intrigued by the fact 3 dozen or so JH27N0B cars were sticks.  In all my years of going to car shows and reading magazine articles I've never run across one with a stick.  I saw pictures online of of a purported stock yellow 3 speed manual one time, and vaguely remember a clone hemi or 440 advertised years ago that's tag said it was a JH27N0B with D21. That's it.
So I was excited, but bummed when I saw this ad today and saw the fender tag said it was born with a 383 4 barrel and 4 speed, what a shame whoever built this clone didn't restore it to stock, and have ended up with a honest to God unicorn instead of another R/T clone!

One of the reasons I don`t like clones - some guys  use performance models or somewhat rare cars for the starting point. I`m fine with clones, restomods an such as long as they start with a non-rare base model.

What defines "rare base model" doesn't always equate to desirable ?
Last week I said a slant 6 convertible would make a good resto-mod and people on here tore me a strip... same with this car....It's really rare, but most people would likely do to it what this guy has done.....well maybe not a red roof  :drunk: , but the R/T parts, stripe etc...

Ya I agree, there are definitely some rare cars that are NOT very desireable - at least to most of us.

So, it's a 440 six-pack 4 speed tribute but has an 8 3/4 rear end? That seems like a miss.

One less component that needs to be replaced to restore the car back to original!
A flat hood in good shape might be tough to find these days.
Red interior, red top, redline tires. Gee I wonder if the owner who built this car's favorite color is red?  :))

I do like the red deluxe seat belts. Not an easy thing to find if they are true E body

ragtopdodge

N-code four-speed (would be nice if it had a #s matching trans to verify it was a true four-speed; fender tag is not reliable anymore w/repops) and AC is pretty darn nice.

Ya, too bad it has fake R/T badges on it.  But really, not a big deal.  Maybe they're stick-on.
