Does anyone replace the rotor part? Can they be rebuilt? Thanks.

Replacements are one piece, if you find just the rotor for the original two piece design it will be very old stock & probably true NOS... Last set I saw for sale the asking price was $1000 & they sold......

If you want something that works you have a few options...

http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/dodge,1970,challenger,6.3l+383cid+v8,1078444,brake+&+wheel+hub,rotor,1896

You can also use the later 10.87 rotors with a bearing spacer....

If your doing something that requires the two piece rotor either search for good used or search for NOS & expect to pay big dollars....

:unitedstates: :rebelflag"            :notsure:    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Front-eLine-Slotted-Brake-Rotors-Semi-Met-Brake-Pads-FES-63011-03/351902592335?fits=Year%3A1970%7CModel%3AChallenger&hash=item51ef076d4f:g:dpIAAOSwJtdaDRhn&vxp=mtr

And when they show up I'm betting you get a one piece rotor.... The picture used is generic..... Replacing the rotors on 70-72 E bodies requires pressing out the studs & since the studs aren't available you have to reuse your originals... Hope none get damaged....

You can seperate the hub from the rotor by removing the wheel studs....

@TONY should manufacture the correct replacement rotor if he wants a highly desirable replacement part. :alan2cents:

I have one piece on the car now. The originals are here on a shelf and I was wondering if they were rebuilt by anyone. I am going to take one and have it separated.  I know some race shops that buy custom rotors. Maybe I can find a replacement for the rotor part.

Mr. Road posted some that might work.  :dunno: Depending on their thickness you can just have then machined. :alan2cents:

Nope, the ones I posted are all one piece.... Roadman posted a picture of just rotors but I'm betting if you order them you'll get a one piece rotor & hub assy..

I worked at Raybestos back in the 90s when we were contracted to make the early B body rotors.  The guy who set that deal up called himself "Muscle Car Mike" as I recall.  At any rate, he really wanted OE correct 2 piece, but when quoted what it would cost vs a one piece replacement, he went with one piece.
I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for anyone to pay the price it would cost to tool 2 piece.
I still have a pair of those B body repos stashed away.  Are they still made?  I doubt Raybestos would have bothered tooling up for a low volume part like that when the closed up the North American plants and moved everything to China.

You wouldn't need to tool the hub, just the rotor....I'm sure China would love the extra work...
