I am working on a 1970 RT resto-mod. The car was converted from an automatic to a 4 speed, years ago, to race (it was quite a hack job change-over). Anyway, the linkage bracket on top of the frame rail is a chunk of angle iron very sloppily welded to the frame. I have a new proper bracket to clean up the "mess". I am looking for exact placement guidance or is "close" good enough?

First question....if you're building a "resto-mod" , why are you not installing a hydraulic clutch ?

When looking straight through the driver's side wheel well, the notch in the bracket should be centered in the view of the access hole, and the inner edges of the bracket should line up with the inner edge of the frame rail
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Great! I am one of those peoples that think in pictures. This also shows me what the missing piece of metal behind the bracket should look like. Thank-you. I am doing this car for my boy and it is his first car. He bought it on E-Bay from Florida and had it shipped to Oregon. It is not a numbers matching car but will remain a lot of the flavor of the old 1970 cars I grew up with.
