Hi all, as above, what kind of HP did the factory state ?

Also, looking @ the factory exhaust manifolds on my car, they look Very restrictive. There is very little clearance room between the inner fender and the manifold, to get a decent set of headers in there.

There were two N-code 383's both E63's. An R/T would have 335 horse power, the non R/T would be 330 horse power. except if the non R/T or JH when equipped with a 4-speed. same rule for the Plymouth, BS 335-hp, BH or BP 330 Non HP, with the same exception.  :alan2cents:

Didn't the A/C cars also come with the 330 instead of the 335?
Contrary to the opinions of some, I am not dumber than I look.

Based off of Dan's teaching's no.  @6bblgt would know for sure, but an R/T or BS was 335-hp period.  :alan2cents:

....and my wifes new V6 Challenger is rated at 305 hp :crying:

428 CJ was also rated at 335HP. This is one of those times it wouldn't be a good idea to race one with your 335HP 383 though.

And my i add the 383-hp was the base engine for the Challenger R/T and the 'Cuda.

correct!  the '70 383HP (painted orange w/HOLLEY carb) was 335hp with A/C, with automatic, with manual transmission, with 3.23s, with 3.91s - it didn't matter

the confusion comes from 1968 & 1969 383 powered Road Runners & Super Bees having 330hp with A/C & 335hp without A/C

:stop:

They'll get even more restrictive once you go over a speed bump unwareingly.

Headers suck!!!! Period!!!

Concensus here...most will agree.
