Simple solution is maybe one of the registries has the body listed with the engine serial # , OP only stated the Cuda vin was an unknown one not the engine

Sorry if that was confusing. We brought home the AAR. I contacted the AAR and TA registry about the AAR VIN and the TA block number. The AAR is new and the block is new. The respective registries could only advise that the block number would make it belong to a TA Challenger.

the VINs for each day's "Scheduled Production" at Hamtramck are split into a "block of VIN sequence #s" for each platform based on demand/projections
Barracuda, Challenger, (maybe a few Darts) & Valiant

the Challenger T/A  for the above engine block would've been scheduled for 3/18/70

for SPD=318 there are roughly:
275 consecutive VIN'd Barracudas (B)
450* consecutive VIN'd Challengers (J)
600 consecutive VIN'd Valiants (V)
* the above referenced T/A is approximately in the middle of this 450 Challengers

when a single shift was working the E-body line (as it appears to have been on 3/18), less than 500 cars could be completed.

per the "Actual Production Date" calendar I've been working on, E-bodies "Scheduled" 319-331 were "In Plant/In Process" on 3/18

Upon some deeper inspection it looks like they were building T/A's that day but there was some interesting builds in between:

In speaking with the 3 registries... Both were certain this block goes in a TA challenger. This is based off production and vin sequences... But between all 3, there is a comprehensive list of production runs. if you trust the info from these guys (and I fully do) there is no doubt it's a challenger Block.
