Hey all, pulled the rear carb off the challenger this morning to address a leaking needle valve and noticed the metering plate is stamped "26". From what I can find on the net it should have one stamped 35, is that correct? (carb is a 4394, date coded 1019)I haven't been able to find any info about a "26" plate. What do you all think?  TIA, jess

Your carb is oem to a 69.5 A12 440 car. 4394 is a rear. 4393 is front . Your rear should have a 6180 plate and your front should have 6178 from the factory for a 69.5 oem application. They have staggered jetting and are different front to rear carb. In 70, they went to 34 front and 35 rear. Which is staggered Jets and different front to rear. They sold a jetting kit from Direct Connection and it had 34/35 plates. They had separate set of plates for a 69 but I've got them installed and can't remember the number off hand. I might not have labeled them, it's been so long. In 71, they went with 35 front and rear carbs. I've got some 26 plates. Not sure where I got them.  I've got lots of six pack stuff I've collected over the years.
Here are some number:
#26.   88 Jets
#35.   93 dr 85 pass rear
#34.   90 dr 88 pass front

#4394 carb Jets from factory rear (6180)
          92 dr 84 pass
#4393 carb Jets from factory front (6178)
          85 dr 80 pass

Yes, the factory had lots of staggered Jets because of the dual plane design and flow of the six pack. I've been doing more research on jetting since my next project to complete is a 440 six pack with the Promax metering plates in the outboards. I can't put it on a dyno but I bought a dual wide-band O2 sensor to tune these carbs. Most people end up with staggered Jets who go to a dyno. I'll try and find out where I got my 26 plates.

Honestly, the info out there is confusing. A guy on Moparts just ran a similar   motor to what I am building on a dyno. He ended up with 88 dr and 84 pass on both front and rear. This is slightly leaner than factory.

:worship: Thanks FastMark for the info, didn't get any other response (here or on the A12 website). I'll reassemble it and go from there.  jess
