So does this mean that all 340 cars that had the A36 Axle Package got the Hemi Suspension?   :notsure:

Yes, The A36 Axle Package includes Hemi Suspension, also known as Extra Heavy Duty Suspension.

I have A36 but buildsheet says ordinary 383 torsion bars on my 1971 Cuda.

Chrysler must have learned something concerning brakes (& rear springs) with the set-up they used on the 1970 A53 "TRANS AM" cars.

During the 1971 model year - the specifics of the axle package (A36 3.55/A31 3.91) 340/383 cars changed - the "HEMI" suspension went away & the 10" rear drums with power front disc brakes also changed.

the earliest B41/B51 (disc brake/power brake) 1971 e-body I have a broadcast sheet from with 11" rear drums is SPD 419 (4/19/71)

:iagree:   Additionally, it gets some things that aren't coded on the broadcast sheet, like torque boxes, leaf spring mounting reinforcements, & pinion snubber reinforcement.
It might include a K frame skid plate and/or extra spot welds during assembly.
In the last few months of 1970 production, it might also include a rear sway bar.

not so fast  :stop: strictly speaking of 1970 e-body & the A32 "super performance axle package" 4.10 DANA
available ONLY on  440HP, 440+6 & HEMI cars OPTIONED with the D32 727 automatic transmission

all these cars had "HEMI" springs and torsion bars before adding A32
all these cars had skid plates & the "HEMI" oil pan before adding A32
it appears all HEMI cars were supposed to have the torque boxes & spring reinforcements
the torque boxes are rarely found on any 383/440 big block e-body (non-convertible)
pinion snubber reinforcement should be found on all (4.10?) DANA e-bodies only
NO rear sway bar on any e-body with a DANA - ever

the $250+ on a 440 car got you:
4.10:1 ratio sure-DANA 60 - upgrade from 3.23:1 ratio open 8-3/4" rear axle
power disc brakes - upgrade from HD manual drum brakes
power steering cooler if equipped with S77 (power steering)
&
max cooling 26" radiator w/torque drive fan upgrade from 22" radiator w/fixed fan

the $220+ on a HEMI car got you:
4.10:1 ratio sure-DANA 60 - upgrade from 3.23:1 ratio open 8-3/4" rear axle
power disc brakes - upgrade from HD manual drum brakes
power steering cooler if equipped with S77 (power steering)

A32 - 440HP, 440+6 & HEMI e-bodies
4.10:1 ratio sure-DANA 60 - about $150 worth - NOT available separately
power disc brakes - about $70 worth
power steering cooler - NOT available separately
max cooling  - about $30 worth - NOT available separately (STANDARD w/HEMI)

I didn't see it mentioned but the A31 26 Rad is the same part number as the 426 hemi rad.

I had a 383 A31 Challenger R/T and the 383 / 4 speed with 3:91 combo was a lot of fun.

Only on the big block cars.
The axle packages and trailer towing packages included Max Cooling.
A big block with Max Cooling received the Hemi radiator Instead of the other 22 or 26 inch radiators that were available on those cars.
The Hemi always used that radiator.
A 340 with A31 didn't get the hemi radiator.  It used a different 26 inch radiator with inlet/outlet positioned for a small block.

From what I know and it's not much, cudas came with 14 inch tires.  With the upgraded A31 option I assume it would come with the bigger tires.  Is this a correct assumption?

:iagree: most OPTIONs were "stand alone" & included everything necessary (or noted exceptions)

all that was required for A31 on any Plymouth e-body with 383 4bbl (BH/BP/BS) or 'cuda (BS) with 340 was a 727 or 4-speed

6bblgt

the minimum tire would be:

BH/BP with 383 4bbl & A31 = F78-14
BS with 383 4bbl/340 4bbl & A31 = F70-14
