Here is a before and after..........I did the black in my garage while attempting to restore as best I could.  The after ....a local Mopar guy did the bay and did not pull the engine to paint it all..............I think he did a great job.   Hope this helps you go to body color..........

Wow that's impressive how well he painted the engine bay without pulling the motor. Any details on how he did it? I'm guessing remove as much as possible? Was it sprayed or brushed, I'd assume sprayed but would think at times the angle of the gun would be challenging?

Well the best I know about how was as stated, a small detail sprayer and taking a bunch of stuff off., he even painted the oil pan.  I got more pics if interested.

Not to belabor the point; the engine compartment looks great after the Y1 paint respray, shouldn't the top of the cowl be black, along with the area behind the grill on a Y1 car.

Engine bay, outside of top of cowl which is black, has always been body color. Being a six there is lotsa extra engine bay space to show off color. LOL, Thanks,   Al

I hate them so much that on my originally FK5 AAR that I painted gloss black then wrapped in flat black, I painted the engine compartment Prowler Orange.
