I just picked up a never used set of 1971 challenger elastomeric bumpers at MoParty.
Are these still made by anyone?

Someone please fill me in as to who Moparty is or was?

What year were these produced?

I'm guessing "Moparty" was a car show he went to and purchased these bumpers.

They were made back in the 90's by Gene Gregory I believe

Since we are on the topic, what ever became of Candy Coat Auto Body out of Colorado who was also making elastomerics in the late '80s early '90s?

I think AMD also made a small run of elastomeric bumpers

It is the first year for it and was put on by Holley in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
I had a great time.
I was told that these bumpers were some of the last ones made by Gene Gregory (I think that was the name).
I am considering putting them on my Challenger. Not sure of that yet.

What part of Colorado?

@cuda hunter I really don't remember -- possibly Denver?  I remember seeing the ads in Hemmings in the late-1980s before the recession and the first pullback in prices.  That was well before I had a car, much less any funds to order up goodies like that.  After that, it was Gean Gregory (now taken over by @Chryco ) making the repro elastomerics for 'Cuda, Challenger and the eyebrow for '71 GTX.

In the early 2000s there was a fellow named Trapaga (IIRC trapaga57 on eBay) who was making 'Cuda elastomeric bumpers out of a hard plastic similar to that used for bowling balls.  I never saw the finished product in person, but he seemed to sell a lot of them at the time.  He also made some other repro parts including the '70 Plymouth emblem for the grille.  I have one of those here -- other than the metal being a bit soft, the accuracy is excellent.

Otherwise, as @RUNCHARGER mentioned, AMD did a few runs of the 'Cuda elastomerics in the early 2010s.  Not sure why they stopped.
