Another thread on tunnel rams got me thinking of something I seen back in 74.
There was an original F8, auto AAR in our town that had some "enhancements". I guess the most visible mod was a single quad tunnel ram and the (popular at the time) clear plexiglass bubble to cover it. This was all nicely installed by chopping a hole in the original AAR hood of course. I bet that single four didn't run a bit better than the 6 bbl if it had been tickled properly either.

He only went part way. Needed side pipes and mural on trunk :bigthumb:

Theres a 68 GTX in the next town with the full tilt front end, fiberglass hood & fenders molded together with a mid 70's pro stock style scoop... Straight axle, Panel paint, scallops & ribbons.... In the day this car was probably the baddest thing on the block... Unfortunately pretty rough these days & I don't see it out much but still cool as hell....

That GTX sounds like my neighbor's Barracuda, full tilt fiberglass front, pro-streeted out, tubbed, tinned, fat tires in back, pizza cutters in front on weld wheels, white paint with a pattern of multi-colored stripes.. It was fast in a straight line... Not good for too much else though.

My buddy has a 69 Runner - B5 blue with lots of metal flake - Gen 2 hemi with a blower - all undercarriage chromed - even the leaf springs - you name it and it is chromed - crushed velvet baby blue interior - 70s style pistol grip 4 speed - I absolutely love it!

I know of an original owner 69 Runner with a straight axle as well. This was my original Hemi GTX, when 10 inch tires just aren't enough. The shop was white everywhere when I ground the 2 inch thick bondo off.

this chally wagon has been in north Carolina since the 80s.
theres pics of it in its current purple paint.
the roof is from a vista cruiser.  olds wagon I think ??
the work was done in the late 70 early 80s in cali.
it is a real red on white 383 auto car.

That Cutlass Vista Cruiser must've been going like hell when it rear-ended the Challenger into and through a what? 300Z? front end. It never ceases to amaze me at what some people think is a good thing to do.  :unbelievable:
In the immortal words of Jimmy Scott- "pace yourself!"

Do that & it would just be another boring absolutly stock vehicle that would be forgotten , right now it is infamous because it is different . Not that I would take a Challenger & do this to it but now that it is done I would leave it alone .

I meant leave it as a station wagon....just make it look like it came off the showroom floor....PolyGlas tires, no aftermarket spoiler etc...
