i will be installing new door skins on a 70 cuda and just wondering if i should plug weld the lip, bond the lip or just fold the lip over. Also recommendation on sound deadener and what foam to apply between door skin and door bracing? Thanks.

Not sure about "foam" inside a door ? The doors are designed to allow any water inside to drain out the bottom....I think foam would just retain moisture :clueless:

@rayzor  Panel bond, The slow cure formula. You can use it on the bracing as well. They make a hammer just for door skins. I have one, It works great, along with a good dolly block. I work the seam about a quarter, then go around and do about halfway folded then three quarters, than flat. that is why i get the slow cure. If you try to do to much you can distort the skin. Also arter you make the first round, I kike to fit the door to the car so if i have to adjust it it,s not to late.   :alan2cents:

:iagree:  And that's pretty much what I said last night, but apparently it went into the ozone. Make sure the door fits before you cut off the old skin as JS makes a good point; you can tweak the door should it fit well say, everywhere but the rear bottom corner, by literally twisting the door frame/skin assembly. But, as the man also says, there's a small 45 minute window before twisting is not an option anymore. Be gentle with the hammer and touch-ups will be minimalized.

I am going to do my door skins soon and am planning to spary Lizard Skin on the inside of the door skin.

This should hopefully provide some relief from the empty oil drum feel that the e-body doors normally have.

A Steck "Skin Zipper" can work well for folding the lip over without leaving a lot of witness marks.

I'd run a course of 1" masking tape around the skin's inner edge when spraying that on, unless you're putting the skin on while the Lizard Skin is still wet. If it dried, It would be fun trying to hammer the skin on smoothly, but that's just my  :alan2cents:   :bigthumb:
