Did all 1970 Challengers use studs and nuts to mount fender, which is correct studs and nuts or bolts, I know its a mix of both but which way is correct, all bolts or the 3 center most studs on both sides like I've seen on a lot of cars

I've heard it was more common on T/A's and AAR's, but have not been able to confirm it.

I would say MOST 1970 Challengers DID NOT use studs/nuts :alan2cents:

There must have been some direction or mandate they couldn't have just done whatever they wanted as the car went down the assmbly line

Also when you look up fender bolt kits for the Challenger they all include studs and nuts

anlauto

The studs/nuts included in ALL fender bolt kits available, are for the fender-to-rocker panel. Two per side. plus one other stud/nut for inside the fender at the upper cowl bracket. :alan2cents:

Looking at the fastener guide...

"Studs, nuts and U nuts have been found on the fender to inner fender mounting on the mid to rear position of some T/A, AAR's as well as on some 1971-74 vehicles."

My 73 used three studs/nuts on each fender.

Purely guessing, but it very well could have been a supply issue and/or could have been limited to one factory.

Mine has bolts for what it's worth and I think it was from Los Angeles factory, but I should double check

My AAR has them and I could be wrong but they might possibly be there to match the hood bow
