Does the 1971 A78(SE) option include carpet on the bottom of the door panels?

I would be curious if the car has an earlier 1970 type trunk floor with the shock bolt access hole on the top instead of the side.

Yes there is carpet on the doors, I have a couple of picture inside the trunk, but none show those holes, I'll know more when I get it home

Quote from: cuda hunter on December 01, 2023, 06:02:53 AMThat appears to be a very low SPD. Is the vin a low number also?

Cool car, has several options for being a fairly low optioned car.
I'm sure your not putting the D13 back in it, I'm curious if it is a 71 stamping or possibly a 70 stamping.  I'm looking for an early 70 D13.

@cuda hunter here is a picture of the VIN pad on the transmission it seems odd too....looks like a 1970 date, but a 72 VIN number and the paint coded stamp of "830" indicates 1971 340 E Body ...

It's an original Texas car with very little rust. Had damage to one rear quarter from a wheel coming off and a very shoddy repair, that's about the worst...I'll trade ya for one of your 71 Cudas

There is a post on Moparts from 2007

"Looking for any details on JS23N1B157*** (paperwork, engine, trans, etc)

Car is 71 Challenger R/T, Plum Crazy, spent most of its life in Texas I believe.

Thanks Moparts!
Darren"

The poster is from Farmland, Indiana. Possibly a guy looking for your car? or the guy you bought it off of? (I the put asterisks over the complete vin since you are opting not to share it.)

@Flatdad you had me intrigued for a moment until I saw "Thanks Darren" .....I know Darren, a member here, @YYZ bought Darren's purple car and brought it to Canada, it's a long story, but I ended up restoring that car too ! :haha:
