Being as the car is local to you that has to be taken into account. I don't imagine there is much selection there either so his price might not be worth losing the car over if you like it.

If you really want it sounds like you have to pay that number, if not make him an offer and walk away and if it doesn`t sell right away he may call to negotiate.

It is not a 70-71, a base 318 car upgraded to a big block. If body is rust free, it is easily a $ 20k car here in US. Unless it is a high end restoration, most of these cars will have some issues. Car is already there so you don't need to pay shipping and custom all the way to Qatar from North America. You might still be ahead with the seller's asking price. Check the car body top and bottom thoroughly and get a magnet.
