Hey gang........looking for a little information on the 1970 Dodge Challenger SE rear finish trim panel. Just how hard are these things to come By? I tried google searching it and all I could find was someone selling an NOS piece for $2,750. Jeez Louise! Tried looking for some used pieces out there and nada. I'm guessing they don't exist in the wild, if you find a '70 SE Challenger walk to the back and you'll find one. What is the value if you find one? A little info if you please guys. Are they that elusive? Appreciate any enlightenment on these things.  Thanks,   Al

They are out there , price range varies with condition , they can be snapped up quick though , should be able to get a decent one in the 4-600 range

I found one this past year for $300 and spent another $500 having it restored by MCB in Michigan.Hard to find in real decent shape.Good luck.

I remember not so long ago when you could still get NOS from Chrysler for under $100 , always meant to get a new one but missed the opportunity , should have bought them all !! Cash flow is always a problem tho  :bricks:

That is scary!  I hope that's GLNOS trying to sell NOS at that price.  Their prices are generally at least twice actual value!
I was just talking to a Mopar friend of mine over the weekend about what you could still buy new at dealers back in the late 80s and early 90s.  Flip top gas caps were $50 or so, front hood moldings were around 30.  Challenger headlight bezels maybe $35, front Challenger valence $95.  I'd buy these items at Koller Dodge.  I should have filled up a storage unit with these parts, I'd be a billionaire now!

I bought a new one from Chrysler in the 80's. I flipped it around 2000 for I think $150 or so and doubled my money. I see used ones for sale regularly now, I sold one last year but I can't recall for how much, I think around $500 and it was fairly decent but not perfect.

In the 80's I paid $80 for a  new rear trim panel.... But headlight bezels were $18.50 & sill plates were $15...... So yeah, wish I'd filled a warehouse.... But you couldn't buy allot of parts that are available today & if you like horsepower? It's easier than ever to make... You like handling? Bolt on parts are a phone call away.... Bigger brakes? Easy.... We use to scrounge wrecking yards for parts we could adapt.... Now you pull out a credit card...

Thanks for the input guys, I figured if I was going to seek info here you all would have some solid advice. It seems depending on condition price is all over the place. Thanks again,   Al

I'm in a similar situation. I have one but it's dented and the lock hole is torn out a little. I have not seen many for sale and they usually run $1000 or more. Never seen them for under that price. Trying to figure out how to fix mine so it won't cost as much as a new one. LOL.

Someone has one for sale on the forum in the parts for sale section he wants $250 for it it's black instead of Argent  I think it's under miscellaneous challenger  parts

Member Rutro... It's a little beat up but a trim shop could fix it......

Pretty sure the OP  (Al) has one to sell also, but his is restored including paint & it's beautiful....  He might have the clips that attach it too.... Which are harder to find then the panel......
