I was wondering if anyone knew what the late vin numbers would be for the 70 or 71 ebodies. I have seen mid 400+ but never knew where the last ones found are. I dont think I've seen any 500000 ones.

70 Challenger Lover

Interesting question. I've never seen 500000 either. Of course this would be different in each factory and include all cars and trucks that rolled out of that particular factory.

the highest performance car VIN sequence number I have record of:

JS23U0E142895

JH23N1B454943

I guess my cuda is pretty late then, as it's in the 440000's late June build

@Shoooter  can you share any specifics?

70 Challenger Lover

I don't know how true this is but I have heard the factories stopped producing end of June and used July as a month of retooling so production could begin again August 1st. Shooter, you may have the very last Cuda to roll off the line in that year. That would be pretty cool if there was a way to confirm it.

Shoooter

That would be cool if you could confirm it. My build date is June 28th 71

70 Challenger Lover

Wouldn't that be something? The very last Cuda to roll off the line in what is considered to be the best year of them all.

I know a 70 R/T 383 car built July 30th. He may be a member here.

That I do not know-his name is Rick Stump I believe and I saw his fender tag so I know it is legit.

Does your car retain it's build sheet?  It has a fender tag right?

My 628 is scheduled date on the tag. Only found a small piece of the build sheet that had the order number on it

Reviving this old thread...
This is the latest build 1970 Challenger fender tag I have in my collection of fender tags. The owner is a member of this site and has a thread on his car.
