Anybody on here know anything about a 1952 Dodge Meadowbrook? Guy I know is selling one, its a 4 door, not very desirable but could be a neat cruiser. I belive it has a flathead 6 that was running and driving a few months ago, now it doesn't run, don't know why. What's involved in swapping in say a 318 to one of these?

Rich G.

I'm sure it won't be an easy swap. Probably a lot of fab work but I'm sure it can be done. Might be easier to get the flathead running if your just going to cruise around with it.

Eh I'm not looking to do any crazy fab work on that car - it's not worth much of anything

the old reliable straight 6 should run , it has to be something simple to fix ,
We did a we did a 318 /904 into an early 50s Dodge truck , no too bad but you will need to fabricate to fit it , there is no bolt in

That's good advice from CP. The old 6's were pretty straight forward and if you have some compression, spark and gas, it'll run eventually. The trick set up these days seems to be to score a truck engine dual carb intake and you could check if Isky or one of the other old line cam guys still has a cam. OR, just get it running and putt, your call. Have fun.
PS- you need two thin wrenches to set the valve lash and you can grind a couple of cheapies to size.
