Rallye hood clearance

I bought an LD340 intake for my challenger. Will it fit under the rallye hood with carburetor and original 340 air cleaner ?

They are heavy though. 40 lbs more than an aftermarket aluminum. But if you need the factory look then that is it.

Yes it is aluminum.  Thanks for responding. Next question what is the best 21st to remove the paint? If I media blast it how can I be sure there is not any media hissing somewhere?

Something like that I would use Air Craft paint stripper first to remove the paint. Then I would glass bead blast it. Blow it all out with high pressure air then give it a good wash with soap and hot water.  Blow dry.  Some guys are scared of bead blasting intakes but I can honestly say I have never had a issue in 30 years of doing it.

LD340 is an old school Edelbrock aluminum high rise intake that's still a sought after piece, they make good power from idle to 6K, I seem to recall a manifold shootout showing it gives up something like three HP to the RPM Airgap.....   Not enough to matter...

I prefer the LD340 to this day probably just because it's old and it still works. I think it looks better than the new stuff anyway.
I also paint strip old intakes ad I don't bead blast them anymore. I too have never had a problem with bead blasting though. I just am extra careful the older I get.

The LD340 is one of the best , great performer !!
A welding shop will have an acid to clean alum as another alternative

Back when I got my first challenger that was the intake to have.l could not pass it up 150 $ with a holley 600 on it and a box of extra carb parts.

Not sure what is best to remove paint from aluminum. I used a Dremel with a soft rotary brush to remove minor oxidation and then rub it with some clear silicone electric dielectric grease and buff it out with a clean cloth. It shine up nice. I am keeping mine unpainted to match my polished aluminum Mopar valve covers. I also have a brushed aluminum air cleaner lid to complete the look I am after.

After I strip them I generally paint them with aluminum engine paint to help avoid fuel staining in use.
