How many of you Cal members or former Cal members remember this sticker that I have posted on the lower part of my passenger side windshield? It has been a very good conversation starter, at various classic car gatherings. What do you think?       Thanks,   Al

  What is it?

Back in the 60's & early 70's California Highway Patrol would set up roadside safety inspections, grab cars at random & pull them into a coned off area where they would do a safety inspection....Lights, glass, brakes, tires, exhaust, any modifications deemed unsafe....

Cody......... Back when our cars were new. The CHP would set up these safety check random pull overs on a main boulevard. There your car was subject to a very intense safety check for the, publics sake, things like horn, headlights (high and low), directional signals, emergency flashers, tire tread, a spare in the trunk, brakes, current drivers license, proof of Ins., registration. If you passed your were told to place this sticker on the lower passenger side windshield within the specified area. Good for a year, If you were in violation of one of the components checked you were sited as a repair violation, given time to take care of the violation and have it signed off on at an authorized CHP office.   Thanks,   Al
