Can someone school me on if the 70 challenger is supposed to have rear bumperettes with or without the black rubber pieces?

Some do it was an option.Mine got them as part of the Western Sport Special, but I think there were other options that included them

They are part of the A05 protection group... If you have front bumper guards you got rear rubber inserts..

Man, this explains why it was so confusing. Some had them and some didn't. I kept seeing that and couldn't understand why. That's for the explanations guys!

Did anything else come with A05?

I'd have to look at my broadcast sheet again but my 70 Challenger did not have the A05 group yet it showed the bumper guards on the sheet. Maybe you could get little things like that by checking certain boxes during ordering?

The rear guards with the rubber strips are hard to find by the way. Front ones can be expensive but you rarely see the rear ones for sale.

A05 comes with the mid-body molding... But as 70 Challenger Lover pointed out the guards can be had separately, I just don't know the code off the top of my head...

But after a quick search looks like M81 gets you front bumper guards. & M83 gets you rear, but since rears are standard I suspect the M81 will include the rear pads..

All Challengers, and Cudas for that matter, had chrome rear bumper guards obviously, however the front bumper guards were an extra cost option in 1970-72.
If your car has front bumper guards.....Then the rear guards got the rubber stripe automatically as did the fronts. You could NOT get front bumper guards without a rubber strip :alan2cents:

So "four bumper guards" = rubber strips      "two rear only bumper guards" = all chrome, no rubber.

In other words, if your car has only rear bumper guards and has rubber strips....then something is messed up, likely they were swapped out at one time or someone removed the front guards. :dunno:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....
