Hi Guys,

Can some one please tell me do TT 15x8s (back space 4.50") and BFG 255x50x16s fit comfortably on the rear of our cars?

I have 15x7 TTs on the rear and BFG 245x50x16s but want more stance to the car.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I'm guessing you mean 255/60/15, not 16s?

I have 15x8 4.5bs with a 275/60/15 tire in the rear. Hotchkis springs in stock spring location. Mine is tight but doesn't rub. I'd definitely measure and be sure before you order, especially since your rear seems to tuck the tire a bit.

My mistake, yes 255/60/15s.  The car has had new rear quarters fitted and the return inside the wheel arch is deeper than the standard size.  I was thinking of grinding it back to the spot welds, which is about 1/2" and hopefully the new tyres will fit.

Do I need new leaf springs too, to raise it away from the wheel arch?

I run 275's in the rear .... sorry not the best pic angle. All I have on the office computer. I'm running Wheel Vintique 15X8 in the rear

Cudamike

These are 275/60/15

Thanks for the info.  Do those 275's ride on 15x8s with 4.5" back spacing?

BIGSHCLUNK

In all honesty they've been on awhile, 12 years maybe ?  That sounds right tho. It;s the same size (tires) Cudamike  is running. never any rubbing issues...  :ohyeah:

Don't mind me, but I always thought that 275s were a little overboard proportionally on an ebody.....

I run 235s all around for a trans-am look. It doesn't look wimpy...

I saw a challenger with 255s on the rear and I thought it looked REAL good and about the max that I thought was visually acceptable....again, I have never seen 275s on the back of an ebody where I thought it looked perfect from all angles, but 235-255 seemed to really give it a nice proportional look. JMO. I suppose for traction you may need the jump up...

Personally I like the stance / rake, she's got the rumble to go with it too  :burnout:

Here's mine with a 275/60 rear and 235/60 front. I think a little rake makes an e-body look super mean

245's/60 on the front for me    :bradsthumb:

Thanks for your help.

Anyone tried BFG 255/70/15s on the rear?

Are those 275's on standard leaf springs?

Not BFG's but 255/70 fit fine on the back.  These wheels need another 1/2" of offset to move them closer to the spring because they rub on the driver side when she squats. I think they are 15x8 with 4".  I've got 255/60-15 on 15x7 in the front.  Place holder wheels and tires I have $200 invested in, but they look pretty good.  Someday when she grows up, I'm going with 305 or 315 on 18" wheels all around.
