My 340-6 is pretty much stock from the exterior (except headers) The engine internal is stroked with a good street cam producing 500ft-lbs of torque. So I was able to get it up to stock big block strength. The Suspension is stock other than larger torsion bars, sway bars and HD leaf springs. While driving it feels lighter, more square and easier to handle than my 440-6 and Hemi. Never feel the need to put both hands on the steering wheel and can keep my right hand on the hurst. There is slightly more comfort to me when pushing it to extremes in slalom and even acceleration. This may also be due to other aspects like suspension or even have a psychological component. The big blocks are still great to ride, I just prefer my 340 and tend to push it harder in many respects without worry. Although now that I think about it, I've not had any road failure issues yet to give as examples on any of the cars after restoration.
The 440-6 Carb setup is almost identical as 340-6. I don't use the idle stop. The stock 340-6 is said to run slightly leaner but that can be taken into account.
I've added a pick of the my 340-6
