Just tried to order some parts from tried and true RockAuto.
Shocked to learn that they no longer ship to Arizona due to AZ State taxation policy.
Legal battle has been going on for years but I was completely unaware.
Has anyone else run into this?

Colorado went through that a few years ago.  I found an alternate supplier, carparts.com, along with some brand specific places. They eventually figured it out and started reshipping here, but it took several years for them to come to an agreement. Can't say I've really gone back to RA since then since I've lined up other sources that don't have the shipping shenanigans the RA does.  I do like their catalog format and often use it to nail down part numbers that I look for in other places.

Rock Auto shipping charges are becoming so huge ive basically quit using them.   Lately, ive been using Amazon Prime and they have large selection of suppliers and are faster for shipping and with Prime the shipping is free.

This is for my modern car as well as for the Challenger.   Example was i needed a new thermostat and housing for my 2012 chrysler 200 and rock prices with the shipping was $22, 13 of it was shipping and would have taken a week.   Amazon delivered it next day price was $19.50.  Amazon also allows free returns if needed, usually all u have to do it take it in my case to the local Kohls.

What is AZ State taxation policy that made them stop doing business with people in that state?

I still RockAuto and they seem to have a good selection of quality parts at a good price.

From what I have read:
AZ courts determined that RockAuto has a "physical presence" in AZ and therefore can be taxed in the state. Further, the state wants back taxes from RockAuto. RockAuto disagrees.
I've had to scramble do my Christmas shopping at other dispersed sources including Amazon, local auto parts vendor, and Ebay. I miss RockAuto already.
