Here's another head scratcher....These Bees look extremely original, like they've been there for 50 years.... BUT they are on 1971 windows, and I've heard they were never installed on anything but 1970 cars at the factory :dunno:

Just goes to show you that, as Dan mentioned, anything can happen while on the dealership lot, or in the 50 years that followed  :alan2cents:

1971 Super Bee had a left & right fender BEE decal - not sure if it was bigger/smaller/same as the bumblebee stripe version  :dunno:

@1970A-66Challenger   can you post a close up pic of one of the BEEs with a ruler for scale - is the old photo when it is brand new or a year or more later?

It's an LA plant car.  I've got the original paperwork with the car. It was bought by the original titled owner from a dealership  in Tempe as a demo with roughly 4K miles. I'm still leaning towards factory applied one-off but dealer applied is plausible.

I have seen repro decals with the backing cut to position the bees correctly . Not sure who was suppling them tho .

there were different part numbers for B (3505100/3505101) & E-bodies (3505102-3505103) the corner was cut to aid placement

Do the new Scat Pack Challengers have a modern version of the quarter window decal ?
Nope.  They have a metal Scat Pack logo on the front fenders between the door and the wheel, about halfway up on each side.  Depending on which spoiler you get, may have one on there as well.

Okay, thank you...I just thought if there was a modern version of the small window decal it would be a cool subtle upgrade for the resto-mod I building.

Hoping this helps by adding to the database for future references as well as any possible critique now. Car is a 70 440 RT, believed to be original glass. 64,000 fairly documented miles and car spent over 30 of its years in heated storage FWIW and is very much (90%?) original. I can't say positively if it's the original factory sticker or not. Sticker is ~2.00" tall and ~2.25" wide and is applied to the inside of the glass. Left side has the decal as well but I'm too lazy to unpack both until assembly time (but I'll do it if requested). @6bblgt and/or @Cuda Cody hit me with the truth if I need corrected. It'll help others as well.

Are you sure that's a 70 window, hard to tell but it looks like 71+ weather-strip

@anlauto i can't be totally sure, hence my statement of " believed to be original glass". That being said, this car showed signs of a roughly two inch t bone intrusion from the right rear wheel opening and across the passenger door, which got replaced by a factory door in the mid 70s. The door even has an ink stamp on the inside (and I've never seen that before). I'd say it's possible the quarter glass popped in that booboo, especially if it had been rolled down. Floor and frame show zero signs of being affected.

@6bblgt see attached picture. The car is an A66 and was purchased in July '70 as a demo. I'm thinking your aftermarket theory is on the right track.
