A few weeks ago I received my Holley carb back from Scott Smith at Harms.  WOW!!!!  I can't believe the amazing job he did.  The before and after results are just incredible.  The 14 month wait (which he warned me about up front) was well worth it!  This carb is a pretty rare piece being it only came on the 1971 383 automatic trans shaker equipped models, so I wanted a very correct and thorough restoration. Expectations exceeded!!!  Thank you Scott! @ScottSmith_Harms    This definitely gets me motivated to step up my restoration efforts on my 71 Cuda.

Was the wait time really 14 months?

Yes. Sent it in June 2021 (middle of COVID) and got it back Aug 2022.  He was up front and said it would be at least 6 months before he could get to it and with supply chain issues, parts availability, etc. most likely a year turn around.  I was fine with that because I have a long way to go on the restoration.  I also told him I was in no rush.  Like I said...well worth the wait!

Every pic I've seen of Scott's work on carbs resembles a work of art. Impressive stuff from that guy.

@fuscobros That carb does look amazing. He does do some pretty incredible work. I bought a set of clone carbs for my Hemi from Harm's and couldn't be happier. The engine runs so much better than it did with the original carbs.

Do you have the solenoid and mounting screws for that carb? Those are tough pieces to find if you don't. Every carb except the Holley 4667 and 4668 carbs, came with them.

Do you have the solenoid and mounting screws for that carb? Those are tough pieces to find if you don't. Every carb except the Holley 4667 and 4668 carbs, came with them.

"Very correct", which means that you should also have the black wire with unique attaching end and grey plug on it. Also the clip that holds them in place.  They are not shown on your carb. pictures. Details, details, when it comes to carbs, and anything else on a correct restoration.

Interesting...when I purchased my Cuda the original carb had been replaced.  Took me 2 years of searching to find this correct, date coded unit.  I'm not familiar with the solenoid, mounting screws or black wire you're referencing nor do I see any of those parts on the intake or carb currently on the car (a 1977 Holley with an electric choke).  Do you happen to have any pics or reference diagrams that show what they look like or part numbers?

****Still looking for information on the carb solenoid I am apparently missing from my Holley 4735 carb.  This specific model carb was only used on the 71 383 auto cars with the fresh air (shaker) set up.  Not sure if the solenoid is used on other models.  Any help would be appreciated...part number, diagram, pics, etc.  Thanks.

Doesn't this mean there wasn't an Idle solenoid?
