John Petrie Pro 13 made from 355499.

Ohhhh so what to do, restore it as a stock 71 Hemicuda, or an historic Canadian racer... ?
I am guessing it will be as a stock 71 Hemicuda because of the market value of them vs race cars...

The Cuda is or was a 1972 Pro Stock. Today that would be a back half car with other modification. Last time it was on the track was 20 to 30 years ago and was under another name on the door and was 340 powered. The Cuda has seen better days, much better days and has some body modifications that would take a major endeavor to undo and some that Petrie did like no drip rails would be major work. The Cuda should be a part of Canadian Racing History. One person is looking to purchase the body now and will likely return it to its past glory as the PRO 13. This Cuda likely is the fastest of the Real 1971 Cudas ever built being a real BS23R1B body.

Matthew, what remains of the 1971 HEMICUDA ? Is the dash VIN tag there ? upper cowl/rad support stampings ? I assume the fender tags are gone....

That was a beautiful car new. It would be a tough call on what to do with it.

Come back @Matthew Hurst ... we were all hoping that you would tell us more about 355499 and when it was owned by Rick Hurst ... who is your? (dad? brother? cousin? uncle? no relation?)
Cheers!

Tis' better to have owned classic Mopars and lost than to have never owned at all (apologies to Alfred Lord Tennyson)

Ooooh: That will butthurt the 71 guys.
Naaah, by the time the "71 guys" get finished paying $4000 for fenders and $1000s more for a grille/bumper, paint daubed diffs and date coded alternators etc. etc. , their butts can easily accommodate this! Don't you think?  :))

The car will be returned to look much like the Pro 13 John Petrie Cuda. New owner plans are to paint it back to the Petrie colors and decals and use it as a Nostalgia Pro Stock or as a N/SS using maybe an all Aluminum 605 Hemi with an Automatic. Everything needs to be updated with the car and then keep as much period correct pieces as possible. There are no plans that I have heard of that this car will be returned to a 1971 Hemi Cuda. This is one reason why the previous owner sold the Cuda, he wanted the car to be returned to the John Petrie Cuda.
