I still don't believe the part pictured above is an E Body part.  :alan2cents:

If someone can provide better pictures of one installed in an E Body, and what the complete unit looks like, that would be great learning experience for all of us.

QuoteIf your don't know the answer don't reply ...it's as simple as that. Hopefully the OP didn't discard the part based on your opinion.
....and Ross, not only is everybody entitled to share their opinion on this forum, but they're also encouraged to do so....whether they are right or wrong, it's just an opinion and it's how everybody learns... :alan2cents:

Who wants a wrong answer to a question their trying to get answered .. Uh Nobody !!! Enjoy

@76orangewagon  it's not A first!   :headbang:

Of course it's not a first, no matter how many years experience a person may have, there's always room to learn something new. I'm always the first to admit when I've learned something on this site, and as I've said, it's what make this site, and this group of guys, so wonderful...members helping members  :grouphug: :drinkingbud:

76orangewagon thanks for posting the pic, that's definitely the part, don't think it goes to my 71 road runner, but could have been on the 71 barracuda.

the schematic I posted was from the 71 chrysler plymouth imperial service manual in the chrysler wire diagram section. I couldn't find it in the E or B body diagrams.

Brads70

Cool learned something new! Never seen that part before , But what does it do? I realize its emissions equipment but does it go to distributor or carb or...?  Does it delay/restrict vacuum or something?  :notsure:

Shoooter

I have the hole on my 71 Cuda . What does it do? I thought it was linked to my air conditioning. Would this show up as a code on the fender tag?

Looking back at all the current topics posted on this website, you seem to have an opinion on 99% of them.  Why is that? :dunno:  Maybe you should try harder not to post when you have no clue what you're talking about, it doesn't do anybody any good except you, it adds to your post count. :drunk:

Only 99% ? I guess I'll have to try harder to get more involved. I try to join in on all the conversations. :brainiac:  You see, that's what a forum is all about. It's about sharing ideas, thoughts, opinions with one another, sometimes you get it right, and sometimes you get it wrong, that's how life works.

I see you have a fairly low post count, maybe these types of open conversations are not for you ? or maybe try to get more involved with more positive comments and less criticism of others, and you'll begin to enjoy this site as many of us have. It's the best E Body site in the WORLD :grouphug:

Usually N95

Shoooter

I have N95 on my tag. I haven't seen this price on many other Cudas. Was this linked to the AC or separate?

cuda hunter

Or emissions control from the carb?

I see it has electrical components that cause what looks like a vacuum diaphram to open or close.

It's separate.  AFAIK H51 is the only code used for air conditioning

N95 is for California emissions

On a '70 E-body with N95 it will be equipped with the '71-style fuel tank vent lines and the big 'unit' in the passenger side wheel well.  Plus a non-vented gas cap.

I always thought it interesting that the Mopar N95 code for air quality corresponds to the N95 masks recommended against Covid
