I'm not sure how to describe area I'm trying to clean or restore.
On a 70 Rallye dash instrument cluster, I'm trying to figure out what the black underside areas should look like. So you see the metal overlay black/woodgrain and the remainder of the areas are black plastic. Are the black areas shiny black or were they sprayed with matte black paint?
Thanks for any insight! Mark

Thanks, I guess I'm seeing gunk and grime from many years on the plastic. Might be some over spray as well.
I was going to use plastic polish to get it off. Do you think that would be too shiny?

You asked a good question here. It definitely wasn't gloss black. I would describe it as middle of the road(satin?), because I wouldn't call it matte either.

These are the areas I'm curious about on the finish and texture.

Looks like there might be a little texture in the gauge holes. The rest is blacked molded.
