I contacted my friend and told him if he is serious, let's set up a time to talk and go through the car.  He is packing for a move south, so said we would talk after the move is over.  Ball is in his court.

That gives you time to hunt down what you really want and do some financial thinking.
Who has more fun than people!
68 Charger R/T    74 Challenger Rallye
12 Challenger RT Classic    15 Challenger SXT
79 Macho Power Wagon clone    17 Ram Rebel

1 Wild R/T

Before you get in a big hurry check out djais1801's adventure.... Desided he was bored with his bitchen Black Cuda.... Traded it for a 69 Road Runner... Did a little work on the runner to make it his own but never really felt it was "the" car.... While he was playing around E body prices climbed faster then he expected & so after looking for awhile he decided he could live with an A body.... Don't get me wrong, it's a cool car.. But it's no E body.....    Don't sell your till you have it's replacement lined up....

Looks like prices are getting softer, I'd definitely keep the buyer on the hook and be prepared to make a quick move and upgrade to the ragtop.

Stash the cash under your pillow and take your time finding the convertible of your dreams  :alan2cents:

Business is business when it comes to this much money and I would ask for as much as you could get.  Like 55k and take 50k.  If he says no then you keep your beautiful car and enjoy it and if he says yes I'm assuming 50k will be a good foundation for a 4 speed convertible.  I know next to nothing about convertibles....I'm assuming you might have to settle for a non-member matching situation.  Good luck.

The fact he knows you weren't looking to sell it makes me think you have the right to be on the high side of your asking price.

These cars are so expensive I think you have ever right to ask on the high side.

:iagree: Exactly my point...it's rare when someone is bugging you to buy your car.....puts all the balls in your court :bigmoney:

Don't sell it until you have found it's replacement. Then you'll know how the $ line up. If you can make the deal, good. If not, keep what you have.
:iagree:  That's damn good advice IMHO.

I saw that one.  Only thing I don't like about it is that it yellow.  Not a big fan of yellow.

I don't have to have matching #s.  They would be nice, but not a priority for me.  Along the same lines, I'm not a fan of clones.  If it's a base level Challenger and someone dropped a 440 in it - awesome.  Just don't badge it all up as an R/T if it isn't.
