I recently picked up a 71 car with a sunroof and I have a bunch of questions on it.  Is there someone in the Mopar world who could be considered a sunroof expert?

I recall Alan doing several..

Also "farmboy" I think he was called.  Was a 70 challenger with gater grain roof.

Solid data on sunroofs can be fuzzy.  But in terms of factory installed OEM ones, consensus is it began in the US during the 1972 model year.  I have experience with nearly every aspect of the 1970+ Barracuda and  Challenger, except, the darn sunroof.

There was a dealership in Southern California installing sunroofs in E and B bodies, back in the day.  I've seen a few examples and they look good, and they looked original 10-20 years later.  But I don't have the direct experience to know for certain.

Give us more detail about your car, is it a Barracuda or Challenger?  Do you know if the sunroof was factory (on the fender tag) or not?

Regardless, post your questions and there will be some with answers.

Alan Gallant. He used to post on here all of the time but haven't seen anything from him lately.

Let's see the fender tag and or the broadcast sheet.

The VON should start with a G.

I talk with Alan frequently. He and I are already talking about it.

I sent them an inquiry yesterday and got my answers today.  Scott gave me all the details I needed.  :bigthumb:

David Huffman was pretty impressive with his build over on cc.com days. He added a sunroom to this car and a gator grain top. I always admired it and his workmanship!  I think his screen name was "70farmboy"? He has since sold the car, not sure where it ended up.
