Not sure whether to call this a restomod or a clone.  Looks good.  for the price perhaps too good

I would call it a clone, or maybe just a modified car... :alan2cents:

But what is it a clone of? I guess the 440 is not original, but doesn't claim to be an R/T or anything special. Definitely some mods.

It does look really good, except I can't get past the shaker. The grey really sticks out.

That car belongs to a good friend of mine and it is very nice. I'm very surprised it hasn't sold yet. I told him he was nuts to sell it. The market has been very strange it has sat for sale for several weeks now and no one had even looked at it. He just started getting a bunch of calls and action on it this week.

When I saw it I was thinking how has this not sold.  Even at the higher price.   It's a looker. For anyone that doesn't care about originality it checks a lot of boxes.   440, stick, shaker, ac. Interior.    I always worry about black, but if I didn't have one in the garage, I would be calling.   Why didn't he post it here?

Right.

Paint that shaker black and it would really pop.

If you buy the car I'm sure I can get him to paint it black for you.

I am surprised it hasn't sold also, but I suspect Facebook is not the best market for it Maybe he has it elsewhere also.
The price definitely seems good based solely on pics.

Nice rig.

Not a fan of V6* longitudal (SIC?) stripes  on 70 challengers.  Take that sticker off and put on a burnt orange bumblebee stripe.

Other than that, pretty turn key!

Who cares if it's a clone.

How would a black Shaker make it "pop"?  Keep it 70-specific argent.

Opinion.  Black on black.   Once your not original what does it matter.   :dunno:

That is a beautiful build. I move farther and farther from correctness with each passing year. He built it exactly the way he liked and you got to respect that. It takes guts to deviate from the fender tag knowing that you limit your buying group if you ever sell.

Then again, being perfectly fender tag accurate is no guarantee of finding buyers either. I've seen a couple perfect cars that were accurate as could be but didn't get a lot of action because they were flat hood cars. Everyone loves seeing authentic flat hood cars with original hub caps but very few people will actually fork out decent money for one no matter how perfect the restoration. In the end, everyone wants the hot performance look.

Since the fender tag was gone when he got it there was no deviating from the tag needed...
