Wtf makes this a restomod? Honestly?! Just put new easy bolt on stuff for the suspension and updated the steering wheel some.

yeah its a pretty "light" restomod to bring that kind of $$
That dash is ugly (I know to each his own), and so's the shifter.

Resto-mods are hot right now....nice looking car, but I agree, far from a "resto-mod" by todays standards  :alan2cents:

I get a real TA instead with that kind of money. Steering wheel is ugly.

It's the combo that a few of us have considered over the years; a 70 face and a 72-74 arse. Not a bad combination IMO. The work seems to be decently done, but Darth Vader should come a retrieve his dash and steering wheel. There's been more done to this thing than you'd think and it's a mark of distinction that it doesn't stand out clearly. Still a pretty good dollar!

That's the trend right now, a lot of buyers bored with the stock stuff.... :dunno:

How about blacking out the radiator support and painting the fender bolts? Honestly don't mind the seats. The steering wheel would be more appropriate on the Munster mobile.   :driving:

Nice car.
Looks like there was some time and effort put into it. Probably still lost money on the car...
No AC, No Heater? No Thanks!
I would have to change that and a few other things to be able to own and enjoy it.
Not my cup of tea but there is a buyer out there for everything. On a different day it might have stalled at $40k just never know at auctions. Some bidders just don't like to lose.

They overpaid by $40k or so. Maybe more😁

This makes me feel real good about the original and complete T/A I bought. Not a fan of the dash or the batmobile steering wheel.

I didn't know they still made those braided hose coverings, I had those on my first car for a short time back in the 80's.

I hope that it was bought by an uneducated buyer who saw the word "resto-mod" and figured $80K was cheap seeing other REAL resto-mod cars crossing the block for $100K+

I like most of it. Carbon fibre decal on dash needs to be replaced with one with less glare. I have no problem, with the white face gauges. And yes, the steering wheel has to go.
The marker lights look far better than factory IMO. Whenever I get around to redoing the body on mine it will have something like that or 71 Runner markers.
I would have a tough time calling it a resto mod though. Unless resto mod means something as little as bolting on non-factory, or incorrect year parts.
Nothing I said justifies $80k though.

People with money looking for tangible assets to buy with their dollars as the dollar is set to devalue.

I would have shopped for an original T/A or similar car for that money as well. This one is decent, but a one off. Still can't understand no heat / air.... and agree the steering wheel is just wrong for this car. Also why go through all of this work and use an automatic transmission?
