That looks good for the price

Rallye dash, paint looks nice in the photos. It's worth a look if a person is close. Store the 318 that is probably in it and install a worked stroker 360.

Would be awesome if the small block turned out to be a 360 . . Cool car!   :clapping:

Just out of curiosity, why do do you say that?  Because it might be original?

Just wondered, I have people tell me all the time that "too bad yours doesn't have the 340", which I always find to be a weird statement given that it wouldn't be the original engine then.

Well if it was originally a 1974 360 car instead of a 318 car it would be a lot more rare, valuable and desirable  :alan2cents: Same goes with a 340 vs 318 in any 1970-73 Cuda.

Ahhh...that makes sense.  I wasn't even thinking about the fact that the 318 was another option.

Is the 360 a lot more rare in the '74 Challengers vs. the 318's as well?

Yea...out of the 16,500 1974 Challengers made there was probably only 1000 or so with a 360....

Same with Barracuda/Cudas 11734 made only 1316 with a 360...roughly US production only

Wow...I never would have guessed those numbers would be so low.

All the better for me I guess. :dunno:

Yes: You probably didn't realize it but you've got a rare and desirable 74 there. IMO the 74, L-code cars are undervalued and that will change. They were quicker than the 2-3 340 cars, very rare and the last of the E-bodies along with being very low production.

Haha...well you know the saying, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good!!  I know it's a "two fender tag" car, and I remember running the fender tag through a decoder to verify what the seller was telling me was true:

Original 360 HP car
Factory 4-speed
Special Order paint code: gun metal gray

There were several other items I can't remember.

Forgive me, but what does the "L-code" mean again?

Kind of a cool story, but when I was originally looking I thought it would be cool to have a '72 or '73 because I was born in 1972, and my wife was born in 1973.  Well, obviously the car is a '74, but when I was decoding the fender tag, I discovered that the car was "born" on Nov. 28, 1973 (Hamtramck, Mi).

Well, my wife was born on Nov. 25, 1973.  I thought that was better than actually having a '73 model year! :bigthumb:

To think I had Y5 1974 360 Challenger with Ralley dash roller that I sold about ten years ago.. Kind of wish I had kept that car.
