I'd like to see the receipts for the restoration on this car to see how they ran up $300K in bills!
For my 300 large I'd hope they'd at least have got me a 70 console, correct space saver, and got the under hood details correct!  :alan2cents:

I thought the shop here in IL that finished the bodywork and painted my T/A ran my bills up out of control, but I guess it could have been alot worse if it had been done in Wisconsin... :looney:

Someone got completely taken advantage of.  It's a super nice car and we could all find things we might have done different if we did the restoration, but $300,000, really?  Come on man, that's taking advantage of someone to another level.   :o

I'll keep that name in mind.....I'll send all my customers to Muscle Car Restorations in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin for an estimate first ! :bigmoney:

I guess if it was a total rotten basket case the metal and bodywork would be a big hit. NOS sheet metal? While it does seem really high you just never know how much needed done.  Owner obviously had some serious deep pockets.  I wonder if the receipts reflect purchase price also?

by the time all is said & done - I've heard price is always 2X or 3X the original "estimate"

Even if it had $100K in metal work alone, the rest of a restoration wouldn't cost $200K  :o If it did, I certainly would boast about it...Especially when there SO MANY incorrect details with the restoration... :looney:

:iagree: It could of been like that one that was in the tall weeds in New Jersey from the picture that is in one of the threads on hear.

On the + side that F8 paint and interior does look sweet! :bigthumb:

Nice options, I think he could have had Alan do 3 for him at that price though.

Good Lord you guys are harsh, that car is actually pretty nice. (really)
That said I'd be happy to contact the owner and make the necessary corrections for 50k

MCR had this car at the nats in '08 and I wasn't all that impressed.  It looked like they'd had a mishap loading it or unloading it from the trailer and scraped the side.  :(
That and all the incorrect details under the hood from a shop that advertised doing national show quality work told me they didn't live up to their hype.
They are at the World of Wheels show here every year but mostly display resto mods.
They displayed a very nice looking A12 car at MCACN last year.  I didn't have a chance to inspect every last detail, however what I saw looked great.  The owner must have a half million tied up in that A12 restoration!  :haha:

Those high end shops are not cheap. In a recent episode of Fantom Works a guy brought in his all original 100% complete [with minor rust issues] 1969 Shelby GT500 for a full restoration. Final bill 2250 hrs labour @ $70.00 per hour + 55,000 in parts. Total $212,500!  :unbelievable:

I know these AAR fiberglass hoods don't usually fit too well, but for MY $300K, that hood would have to fit PERFECTLY; categorically NOT like THIS one does! :please:

that is an outrageous resto cost. my only other thoughts on 'why' is that it was done in '08 when a lot of the good repro parts we have now were just not available and if they were paying through the nose for NOS, that adds up pretty quickly (especially hard to find parts like a clean green interior .....)
Growing older is mandatory...growing up is optional.
