Why are some bidder's identities protected, they're listed as a "private listing"?

Thanks @Jay Bee I'm bidding on a couple items, both from the same seller. All bids are shown as private except mine. I think the seller is shill bidding.

I agree. Bottom line is you just need to know what the item is worth both on the open market and to you. Dont exceed what you think it is worth and also don't expect to get something that is valuable for next to nothing.
