does a stock 340 require a spacer for the starter?
its about 1/8 inch thick. if so does I am amusing it goes after the trans dust shield but before starter it self?

I've never heard of one.  Just the dust shield.  IF there was a need for one, yes, it would go on after the dust shield.  The shield has to sit flush against the trans bell.

k good thanks, must have come with the starter, probably used for different application, as the starter gear to converter teeth seem to engage and ride properly.

I just want to check one more time with everyone as I find more places that list that a 340/727 cuda should have this starter shim...

That's a dust shield not a shim.
