- Brake lights just went out
- The rear hazard flashers went out, but the fronts work
- The rear license plate light out also (looks like on same circuit from wiring diagram)
- Put in all new bulbs
- Checked all fuses
- All body, dash, and steering column wire harnesses are new
- The brake switch on pedal is original to car
- checked all other harness connections
- All other lights work

Appreciate any input or help on this. Thanks

Test the rear lights by hooking a ground wire from one of the mounting studs that attaches the taillight housing to the body, to a clean grounded piece of metal. I permanantly ran a ground wire from both housings to one of the bolt on the trunk latch mechanism and my tail light and brake lights are brighter than ever.

The problem is usually that after a restoration, there is too much paint on everything to make a good ground for the tail light bulms.

Brake lights & hazard flashers all go through the turn signal switch the problem is often the switch , Standard Part # is TW7

Agree, the turn signal switch may be the culprit.

You guys are good. Traced the bad circuit into the Steering Column. Another unexpected project  :steamingmad:

OK, realized the replacement switches are not correct for 1970 (hazard switch pulls out on 1970)

Anyone make a correct 1970 replacement switch, or, any way to retrofit my 1970 hazard on the new switch?

Thanks for the help

Banana

or, can the 1970 switches be rebuilt or repaired?

I believe our member @Slotts rebuilds the 70 switches, try dropping him a PM  :dunno:
