Headlight switch problems

Guys,

I cant get power to my instrument lights (no power at fuseblock, fuse is good). I dont think I am getting 12V to the dimmer switch and I believe that is fed from the headlight switch. There are four terminals on the back of the HL switch. Terminal B1 is battery power input and I think the next terminal down from top is "R" and that is supposed to feed 12V to the dimmer, not positive. When I flip my headlight switch to the park position, I get nothing. I bench tested switch for continuity between terminals B1 and R and it appears as an open circuit. When I flip switch all the way up to the Headlight position, I get sporadic continuity. New switches are about $110 and I dont really want to buy one, how difficult is it to repair these old HL switches?

I've had a few apart . very simple inside . you will have no problems taking it apart. Why not try spraying WD40 or other light oil into the switch and operate the switch a few times to clean the  contact surfaces. Good luck

I've rebuilt a few of these too and experienced that sporadic continuity also. Typically a sign it needs a rebuild. Here's how I test test them

I second trying contact cleaner. These switches get gummed up over the years.
I had an intermittent defogger switch that cleared up after spraying and working it a few times.
Walmart usually carries it, you don't want to use straight WD40.
