What is everyone using these days for a good reliable stock ignition control module?  4 or 5 pin. Just trying to steering away from poor import quality.

Do you mean the Voltage Regulator?

Or Electronic Ignition (as compared to points ignition) and you're hoping to evade the Maiden China Junket?  Pick a good company to buy from, such as:

I think they are all 4-wire.

4 pin.   I bought mine from Auto Zone and have had no problems with it.   Id love to buy a Rev-n-nator but cant find any.

Difference between the 4 pin and 5 is that the original early Mopar Ignition had a 4 wire ballast resistor to cut down the voltage to the module and needed the 5 pin.   Later the 4 pin had the resistor in the module itself and thus only a two post ballast resistor.   U can use the 4 pin always.

4 pin. As to quality..... Stock modules are cheap. Buy two.
When I changed to a modern multi spark ign, the difference was very noticeable

The company selling has little to no impact on the quality of the item or where it is made, you need to figure out who the manufacturer is and where it was made.
